It is a beautiful Shiva temple situated at the top of the hill in the heart of the city Ranchi, Jharkhnd.
You have to climb 400+ steps to reach the temple, The hill gives a panoramic view of the city and is one of the major landmarks of Ranchi Town.
At the bottom hill, there is a beautiful Ranchi Lake.
It has some historical evidence also. freedom fighters were hanged here by the Britishers. So after Independence hoist the Tricolor on the hill. Shrawan Mela, Mahashivratri, and Vaishakh Mahotsav are a few major festivals celebrated here.
During Shravan time, the devotees offer Jal (Dhara) to the temple deity and the Shravan season is a major draw of the pilgrims.
There are other temples also within the premises.
Mahakal Mandir:
Here lord Shiva is worshipped in its Mahakal avatar. The deity of Mahakal is situated at the entrance of the temple on the left side prior starting of the steps.
Kali Mandir:
In this temple, Shakti is worshipped in the form of Goddess Kali. This deity is situated in the right-hand side beneath the stairs.
Vishwanath Mandir
This temple is situated in the middle of the hill on the right-hand side. In this temple, the deity is lord Shiva and is black in colour.
Hanuman Mandir
This temple is for the disciple of Lord Rama, Bajrang Bali who is also known as Hanumanji. The deity of Hanumanji is sculpted out of a single stone or Chhatan which is significant itself. On the occasion of Ramnavami significant flag of Lord Hanuman is been furled whole through the premises every year.
Durga Mandir
This temple is set at the top of the hill beside the Shiva temple and is 30 years old. Here Shakti is residing in its two forms as goddess Durga and Parvati.
Naag Mandir:
Just in the nose room of the Shiva temple there situated the Naag Mandir. In the month of Shravana monks draw the attention of the devotees by keeping snakes with themselves. Here lies the footprint of Lord Shiva which is the main place of attraction for the pilgrims and visitors.

This is Day 3 of the Sri Lanka Trip. In the second half of the day, we continued our sight seeing, and we reached The Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, Kandy. Which is one of the most famous botanical gardens in Sri Lanka and a major tourist attraction. The gardens are located about 5.5 kilometers west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, near the Mahaweli River. They were formally established in 1843, though their history dates back to 1371 when King Wickramabahu III kept a court at Peradeniya. During the British colonial period, the gardens were expanded and developed, with many plants being introduced from around the world. It covers a land of 147 acres and is a n important center for botanical research and plant conservation in Sri Lanka. They have over 4,000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees.
