Colombo to Kandy : Sri Lanka : Episode 1

We visited Sri Lanka in April 2024.
We were on an 11-day and 10-night trip.

We had an early morning flight, boarded at Banglore, and in 1 hour we landed in Colombo, completed the immigration process, collected our bags then did a quick check for currency exchange and SIM cards before making an exit from the airport.

Outside our tour guide for the entire Srilanka trip, Mr Mangla was waiting for us. we left for Kandy where our hotel was booked for the next 3 days.

On the way, we visited the 'Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage'.It is situated in the town of Kegalle, halfway between Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation in a 25-acre coconut property adjoining the Maha Oya River. The orphanage was founded to care for and protect the many orphaned unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka.

We exchanged INR (Indian Rupee) for LKR (Sri Lankan Rupee) in a shop in Pinnawala.

On the way to the hotel in Kandy, we got a SIM card from SLT Mobitel.
